About me
Providing a safe, comfortable and private setting
Whatever has brought you here my role is to offer you a non-judgemental confidential space where you feel seen, heard, understood, and supported so that we can explore the problems you are trying to solve.
I am an integrative psychotherapist and supervisor and work with individuals, couples and partners both online and in person. Regular sessions can be offered on either a short-term or longer-term basis, depending on your individual needs and goals. We will discuss what feels most appropriate at the beginning of our work together and review this as therapy progresses.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach is to offer you an authentic, attentive and empathetic therapeutic relationship where you feel genuinely seen and heard. We can explore the issues that have bought you to therapy and as your story unfolds we will work collaboratively identifying how your life experiences, behaviour patterns and relationships may be influencing your life in unhelpful ways. By developing a greater understanding we can integrate new ways of being that feel more helpful, authentic and sustainable.
My psychotherapeutic philosophy is based in Gestalt therapy which is a humanistic, experiential and existential psychotherapy that focuses on your present-moment awareness to help you understand what you feel right now rather then relying on past assumptions. My belief is that we have all the necessary abilities to solve difficulties but sometimes we get stuck and need help to unravel the issues that are keeping us stuck. My integrative approach to psychotherapy and counselling is an assimilation of trusted ideas, techniques and theories drawn from a range of therapeutic approaches some of which I highlight below.
Psychodynamic therapy – Exploring how past experiences, relationships and patterns outside of our awareness can influence how we think, feel and relate to others.
Developmental and attachment-based approaches – Considering how early relationships and experiences can shape our sense of self and ways of relating to others.
Compassion-focused approaches – Developing greater self-awareness, self-acceptance and compassion towards your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Neuroscience, mindfulness, psychology, and body-focused approaches - To help reduce stress, anxiety and depression.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information
I offer walking therapy sessions outside in Leamington's parks as an alternative to traditional face-to-face sessions. Many people find this a more comfortable way to explore their feelings, with the added mental health benefits that come from movement and being outside in nature.
Walking alongside one another can feel very different to sitting opposite one another in a therapeutic context. This experience has been described as and likened to the conversations we have in the car. For some people simply being in nature can help thoughts and feelings flow more easily. Below you will find my reflections, experiences and research findings on walking and talking outside which is an ongoing interest of mine.
If this is something you are interested in then my suggestion is that we discuss this possibility and we agree about the logistics and contract of the session such as what we will do if the weather is bad, what we do about confidentiality, how we will negotiate encountering other people or people we know etc.
