Elaine Brown Dip.Couns MBACP
About me
I am a qualified person-centred counsellor and a Registered Member of the BACP (MBACP).
I worked for Wycombe Counselling Service/Bucks Mind for fourteen years. I also worked in the NHS as a nurse for over thirty years and have experience in providing counselling in an NHS setting.
I now have a private practice based in North Norfolk near Sheringham.
I work with individuals who may present with some of the issues listed, however, some clients seek counselling for simply feeling adrift or unhappy with their lives; you may feel directionless, inauthentic, or simply fed up. Whatever you want to talk about I will endeavour to create a warm, welcoming and facilitative environment. The core conditions of empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence underpin my work.
Person-centred counselling is all about the client being self-directing and self-determining. You are the expert on your problems and I will be alongside you as a reflection of your own experiencing and we will work together to help you gain a new perspective.
I also have an interest in mindfulness and other humanistic approaches also inform my work.
