About me

Hello, I'm Dulce Belo, a qualified counsellor and registered member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, loss, self-esteem, stress, or simply feeling stuck and unsure of where to turn. Whatever brings you here, I offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

I believe that every person is unique, and there is no single approach that works for everyone. As a pluralistic counsellor, I work collaboratively with you to understand your needs, goals and preferences, adapting our work together accordingly. My practice is informed by humanistic, psychodynamic and CBT approaches, allowing me to tailor therapy to the individual rather than expecting the individual to fit a particular model.

My aim is to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, your experiences and the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Together, we can explore challenges, build on your strengths, and work towards meaningful and lasting change.

I offer counselling to adults both online and face-to-face. Above all, I strive to create a safe, compassionate and accepting environment where you can feel heard, understood and supported.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice and am a registered member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) (Registration No. NCS19-10044).

My training has equipped me to work with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bereavement, relationship challenges, stress, and life transitions.

I work from a pluralistic perspective, recognising that every client is unique and that therapy should be tailored to the individual. My practice is informed by humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural approaches, allowing me to adapt my work to meet each client's needs and goals.

Alongside my counselling work, I have many years of experience supporting young adults in pastoral and wellbeing-focused roles. This experience has strengthened my understanding of the challenges people can face during periods of change, uncertainty and personal growth.

I am committed to ongoing professional development and regularly undertake continuing professional development (CPD) training to ensure my knowledge and skills remain current and ethical. I also engage in regular clinical supervision in accordance with professional standards and best practice.
