Donna Karpel MBACP AD(Dip)
How I work:
Hello and welcome to my counselling page. I am a fully qualified, experienced and professional Integrative Counsellor, and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
It can be really difficult to take that first step to start counselling, but I am warm and approachable, and can offer a safe, non-judgmental space to help you unburden yourself, and express difficult and painful emotions. We will work together to explore the past experiences, current difficulties and future possibilities. By helping you feel heard and understood, and by giving you a different perspective, we will explore your anxieties, worries, fears and emotional obstacles, so that a path can be found, which can facilitate positive change and personal growth.
What will the first session look like?
The first session will give you the opportunity to see whether you feel at ease with me and if you want to start to explore some of the issues that have brought you to counselling. Following this initial meeting, we will work out the best counselling approach for helping you to move forward.
What length of counselling I offer:
Short term (usually up to 6 sessions) and longer term counselling- you decide how long you want to be in therapy for, there is no long-term commitment.
I can offer daytime, evening and some weekend appointments.
I run a private practice from Bushey and Borehamwood. There are no parking restrictions for either practice.
Please feel free to contact me on my mobile, 07956401489 to discuss any aspects of counselling, particularly if you are anxious or struggling with the concept of entering into the counselling process for the first time. Alternatively you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org Please be assured that everything is dealt with in the strictest of confidence.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am trained as an Integrative Humanistic Counsellor, and I hold a Certificate, a Diploma, and an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling. I have also received additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Time-Limited Counselling, Psychiatry, Psychopathology, and Psychodynamics.
