About me

As a qualified, experienced psychotherapist I provide a safe, professional and supportive environment in which we can explore your difficulties and concerns and work towards lasting change.I work with individuals and offer both short-term counselling and longer-term psychotherapy, depending on your circumstances and needs.

You might have had challenging or painful experiences, or be struggling with relational patterns which are making you unhappy. You might be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, sad, or depressed, but not know why. You might be experiencing life events that feel unbearable. You might find yourself strained or uncomfortable in your career and unable to move forward. If any of this resonates with you, please do get in touch.

My approach is a holistic and integrated one which recognises the importance of both body and mind processes. We are all born with the capacity to live satisfying lives, but through our lifetime of relationships we learn to modify ourselves to fit in with the demands of others. We can lose touch with how we feel and what is important to us.

Working together, we can gain greater insight and understanding of your experience, exploring your situation and what it means for you. Through this dialogue new possibilities can emerge, increasing your awareness of different choices you could make in your life and relationships.

What to do next

If you would like to enquire further, send me an email or give me a call. I prefer to talk to you directly before arranging a first appointment, and will usually call you back within 24 hours. If you have a preferred time for that, please let me know.

Our first appointment will give you the chance to meet me and to see whether my approach is right for you, and will help me to understand what you want to get out of therapy. Above all, it is important that you choose someone you feel comfortable enough with.

If you decide that working with me will be right for you, appointments will usually be weekly at a regular time.

Training, qualifications & experience

My experience

I have many years of experience working within different counselling and psychotherapy services, both as a volunteer and in paid employment. As well as services to individual clients, I also offer supervision to other psychotherapists and counsellors.

I have been working in private practice since 2005, in London and in Hampshire.

I previously created a counselling service within a local mental health charity, offering both time-limited counselling to people experiencing depression and anxiety and longer-term psychotherapy to people who had experienced trauma. I supervised the trainee counsellors as well as holding my own caseload, in which I worked with clients with personality disorders and with strong dissociative processes and clients who had experienced relational trauma and sexual abuse.

I also have experience of working within the NHS, in a rape and sexual assault psychotherapy service in London, and worked as a volunteer at Portsmouth Abuse and Rape Counselling Service (PARCS).

My qualifications

MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy, Metanoia Institute.

Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy, Metanoia Institute.

Diploma for Group and Individual Supervision, The Grove.
