About me

I am a qualified counsellor, a reliable and honest person, who offers a safe and confidential space for others to explore their innermost thoughts and feelings, allowing them to live a more settled life. I work with children, adolescents, adults and pensioners. I am a caring and empathic person, and am respectful of others’ values and beliefs, working within the Ethical Framework for Good Practice of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP, 2018).

Sometimes people need to find their true self to be who they want to be, and I offer a safe and confidential environment to allow this. I work in an integrative and person-centred way, which means I help with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, feelings of sadness and loss, relationships and family, best suited for each individual I meet. I work face to face and on the telephone. I am a Certified Online Therapist and offer online sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a L5 person-centred trained Counsellor, who works integratively which means I use varying techniques to work to the needs of the clients and what they present with. I offer a safe space to allow the client to explore their innermost thoughts and feelings.

I work with children and young people, in an education setting and in the community, who present with anxiety, depression, loss and grief, ASD. I work with looking after children, adults and the elderly working with end of life and caring responsibilities, grief and loss from suicide.

I work with young people who self harm, have suicide ideation, trauma and social anxiety who may present with psychosomatic symptoms. I work with young people and support them to socially engage with others in order to develop opportunities in the workplace.

Life is challenging and sometimes we need a quiet space to manage these challenges. I work integratively, which means I use my therapeutic toolkit to best fit the issues you are experiencing, working at your pace, without judgment.

I work with children from the age of 8 years face to face, working creatively and with adolescents, adults and families face to face, online, and/or phone.

Please contact me to discuss any questions you may have; leave a message by email, text or phone and I will respond as soon as I can.

Kind regards Diane

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
