About me

Therapy at Coventria Therapy offers you a safe space to talk about your problems in confidence with somebody who is trained to listen and to help you to change things that you identify. As an integrative psychotherapist (trained in CBT, Person-centred therapy and attachment theory approaches), there are a range of different methods I may use to help you to achieve this. Your active participation is an essential part of therapy, I do not "treat" you, I enable you to help yourself so that any changes are long-lasting.

It is important to be aware that therapy often involves discussing unpleasant aspects of your life and because of this,  you may initially experience uncomfortable feelings. Facing these feelings in therapy often leads to better relationships, solutions to specific problems, and significant reductions in feelings of distress, but there are no guarantees of what you will experience. I can offer a secure base from which to explore new ways of 'being'.

Therapy varies depending on the personalities of the psychotherapist and client, and the particular problems you are experiencing. It involves a commitment of time, money, and energy, so do take your time when selecting a therapist. I offer reduced fee introductory session to give us an opportunity to see if we are comfortable working together.

In addition to my specialist areas of OCD, anxiety and trauma (during childhood or more recent), I work with all of the areas listed below. I only work with adults (18+) and I do not offer couples or family therapy.

At the beginning of therapy we would evaluate your needs and discuss your history and reasons for seeking therapy. Based on that, together we will discuss a general plan for therapy. You are then able to evaluate this information along with your own opinions of whether you feel comfortable working with me, and whether the cost and time involved are manageable.

I do request that all clients are free of non-prescribed drugs and alcohol during appointments and that we treat each other with respect.

Please feel free to contact me using the details on this page, I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

I sincerely hope you achieve your desired positive life changes through your therapy journey, with whomever you choose.
