About me
Sometimes life leaves us feeling overwhelmed and we just need to be heard, helped and supported. I am a qualified counsellor with over 15 years of experience, who aims to make you feel relaxed and at ease in a safe, warm environment. Here we can work through your difficulties and look at changes and a way forward.
I offer long and short-term counselling, however, you may only require a few sessions.
I have experience in helping clients with many issues including depression, anxiety, stress, family issues, anger, fear, grief and relationship difficulties. No problem is ever too small.
I see most of my clients in my private home. Here you will be encouraged to take time out and explore your issues in the strictest confidence. The aim is to help you understand what you are going through and focus on changes to help you cope and move on.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
I offer both long and short-term counselling according to your wants and needs. You may feel comfortable with just a few sessions. Counselling is about you, and you are in control and free to stop whenever you wish.

I spent several years volunteering, and completed a Bereavement course organised by the NHS, at Cynthia Spencer Hospice. Here I supported terminally ill patients and their families during their times of uncertainty, fear, despair, loss and bereavement.
I worked for Women's Aid, Northampton, counselling clients in refuge mainly suffering from physical, mental and sexual abuse. The issues presented included low self-esteem, depression, substance abuse and suicidal tendencies.
My time as a counsellor at Y.I.S, Milton Keynes, gave me experience counselling 14-25 year old adolescents through the difficulties that can overwhelm them at this particular age. At Y.I.S issues were presented such as Education & Career pressures, confusion over sexuality, relationship difficulties, eating disorders, substance abuse and self-harm.
I spent several years at N.C.S (Northampton Counselling Service), whereby I counselled a variety of clients. The issues faced included separation, divorce, career change, redundancy, depression and trauma.
I am a supporter of Al-Anon, (supporting family members who have relationships with alcoholics), and attend meetings in their support.
I also work as a clinician for a Well-Being Company (Employee Assistance Programme).
Being a qualified Hypnotherapist, gives me the skills and ability to teach and help clients to relax and override the feelings of anxiety.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
