Do you need help with depression and anxiety, substance misuse, loss or bereavement issues? Maybe you just feel a little lost and lacking self belief, connection or direction in your life and within your relationships, family or working life? I’m Debbie and I have expertise and proven experience of helping clients from all walks of life experiencing issues like yours to move forward with their lives. Perhaps your issues come from a difficult past or childhood abuse or trauma? I provide a calm and safe environment in which to explore what is important to you and at your own pace.
I offer individual counselling - usually weekly on a long or short-term basis. I have been an Integrative Counsellor/Therapist for over 20 years and I have a background in mental health management and learning disabilities.
I am a Registered member of BACP and qualified to Advanced Diploma Level in Therapeutic Counselling. I have worked as the In-House Counsellor at OneYmca for the past 8 years and in drug and alcohol counselling and rehabilitation with Turning Point (4 years) previously. My particular interest is in survivors of trauma and I recently qualified in using Rewind Technique (a very quick, effective and lasting way of healing trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). I trained and achieved my Advanced Diploma with CSCT (CPCAB governing body) in Old Street, London and qualified in 2005. I have 20 years experience in counselling and therapy initially working with Mind (mental health) charity and ASCA (Adult Survivors of Childhood Abuse). I have a Bsc Hons degree in Sociology and began my career working with children and young people with emotional and behavioural problems.
Additional skills include breastfeeding support and post natal therapy. I am currently completing a Diploma in Hypnotherapy to further enhance my skills set. I can therefore help you achieve weight loss, smoking cessation, confidence/self esteem or tackle phobias. I use a bespoke approach tailored to your individual needs, life experience and current situation.
