About me
Welcome to my profile! I am a private practitioner providing both counselling and psychotherapy. I work online throughout the UK, and internationally; I also offer face to face, and outdoor ecotherapy in the Eden Valley.
What is counselling or therapy?
"Therapy offers you a safe, confidential place to talk about your life and anything that may be confusing, painful or uncomfortable. It allows you to talk with someone who is trained to listen attentively and to help you improve things". (BACP- British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists, 2012)
Specialist Experience
I have a number of specialist areas: cross cultural work, issues relating to third culture and re-entry into birth country, childhood sexual abuse, rape and trauma; in addition I have a great deal of experience working with depression, anxiety, stress, loss and relationship difficulties. My therapeutic work and client experience has involved extensive periods of living and working overseas as an expatriate, and also within the humanitarian sector; I am therefore familiar with these challenges and work internationally using a secure online platform.
How do I work?
I work with each person in a way that is meaningful to where they are in life at that point in time. This means that I will work with you to understand how you see the world, your values and what is important to you and together find a way forward towards a more fulfilling life.
My way of working is relational, using an integrated approach; I therefore utilise different theoretical models as they suit each person as a unique human being. It maybe that you have a diagnosis and together we would explore the root causes and the potential you have to make the changes you want.
I work with anyone over the age of 16 and I hold an enhanced CRB certificate.
I can provide both long term, and short term therapy and we would agree an initial number of sessions and review continually throughout our therapeutic relationship.
If you have any queries, or you would like to make an appointment please contact me either by email, or mobile.
I very much look forward to hearing from you.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
