About me
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply not yourself, you don’t have to carry it alone. I’m a qualified integrative counsellor and I offer a warm, compassionate and confidential space where you can feel heard, understood and supported—at your pace. My work has included counselling within a hospice setting and carer support through a Carers Trust foundation, and I bring over 20 years’ experience in health and social care as a registered general nurse (RGN), former dementia care home manager, and currently a substance misuse nurse in a detox facility. This experience helps me gently support people through pressure, change and uncertainty, including elderly care, palliative care, family conflict and work-related stress.
Because therapy is personal, I tailor our sessions to what you need most. I work in a person-centred way, offering a steady, non-judgemental relationship where you can speak freely and feel emotionally safe. When it’s helpful, I also draw on approaches such as CBT to offer practical tools for anxiety, low mood, and day-to-day coping. Together we’ll make sense of what’s happening, explore patterns with kindness, and find realistic steps forward—so you can leave feeling lighter, clearer and more grounded.
Areas I can help with include anxiety, low mood and depression, grief and loss (including anticipatory grief), self-esteem and confidence, loneliness, trauma, and adjusting to major life changes.
Taking the first step can feel hard—I’ll meet you with warmth and understanding.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information
I offer a warm, supportive space to help you navigate grief, loss and anticipatory grief. I also provide compassionate support for carers, and can help with self‑esteem, anxiety and depression, as well as the emotional and practical challenges that can arise through the ageing process. I work in a trauma‑informed way and have experience supporting people affected by substance misuse. Where family conflict or attachment difficulties are present, we can explore these sensitively and at your pace. My aim is to empower you so you feel more grounded, hopeful and able to move forward.
Sessions are available face to face, online or by telephone, and home visits can be offered where appropriate. Together we can choose the format that feels most comfortable and accessible for you.
