About me
As an experienced counsellor, I pride myself on my ability to build an excellent therapeutic relationship with clients, the fundamental and most important thing to support your person centered counselling journey. I will actively listen to you, allowing you the time and space to explore your feelings, emotions, behaviour and views, so that you can become more self aware and achieve greater independence through talking, focus, challenge and reflection. I offer a relaxed, professional and confidential service, within a safe space, to support you during this process.
My commitment to you, is that I will be not judge you, and that I will remain real and honest whilst sharing your journey. We will develop a trusting relationship which will allow you to open up in a warm, trusting environment, where you will feel safe to explore whatever you wish to bring to each session.
I completely understand how difficult it is to first identify, then open up to a complete stranger. I will make every effort to ensure you feel relaxed and valued.
I have over 41 years professional work experience, served within two Fylde based community charities, and now two years as a full-time social prescriber, alongside my role as a private counsellor. The last 6.5 years working directly with individuals one to one, who are experiencing a range of mental health, anxiety, depression and well-being concerns.
I have valuable experience of working at Trust House Lancashire, with survivors of rape, sexual assault and sexual abuse suffered either as adults or in childhood. I also bring experience of counselling adults with a multitude of life issues, including, anxiety, stress and depression, from within the Blackpool area.
I have worked in a professional capacity with the National Police Chiefs Council, the NSPCC, and have also spoken publicly both in England and Internationally around the subject area of child abuse.
After completing my 4 years of training some time ago, I was extremely proud to launch " Lean My Way" counselling service, over 2 years ago.
Fees are £50 pounds a session. Thank-you in advance.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
