About me

As a male, Person-Centred therapist, my approach is responsive to your unique needs, creating a personalised therapeutic experience through empathic understanding.

My specialisms are working with self-esteem, anxiety and depression, relationship issues, and men’s mental wellness. Together we can work on developing an improved understanding of yourself and those around you, in order to build confidence, lower self-criticism, and to gain a more positive outlook on life.

I offer you open-mindedness, empathy, and care as I enter your world, with every aspect of your life that is important to you being important to me within the therapy. I provide a safe and confidential therapeutic space to help you explore your feelings and thoughts at a pace that suits you - while ultimately moving you towards healing and growth.

My counselling space is in the centre of Glasgow, and I work both in-person and online.

Change is always possible, and it starts with reaching out. If something about my profile connected with you and you’re feeling ready to explore how therapy can help you feel more positive and confident, I’m here to help. I invite you to contact me for a free consultation - let’s explore how we can work together to achieve your goals and build the life you deserve.

To book an appointment or arrange a free, initial 30-minute telephone or online consultation with no obligation, please contact me at david@bathsttherapy.co.uk - enquiries will be responded to via email, within 48 hours.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

My Specialisms:

Anxiety & Depression: Working together, we will develop solutions for anxiety, depression, panic attacks and other related conditions. You’ll be offered effective strategies tailored to your needs, designed to reduce distress, manage your symptoms, and improve your overall mental health - all helping to achieve more balanced mental health.

Relationship issues: We’ll thoughtfully and sensitively investigate the difficulties and stresses within your relationships, helping you find the sustainable paths and durable connections that work for you and those you care about.

Men’s Mental Wellness: Offering you a non-judgemental and thoughtful presence, you’ll be in a safe space to discuss and explore any mental health challenges you are facing, including stress, anxiety, depression etc. I provide a secure place to look into your experience of the societal pressures related to masculinity, helping develop your emotional expression and resilience, in order to promote healthier, more connected living.

Working with Self-Esteem: We’ll focus on rebuilding and strengthening self-esteem, addressing areas of self-doubt and low confidence, while developing a stronger sense of self-worth within you - changes that can lead to improved relationships, professional success, and greater life satisfaction overall.

Key details

PVG Scheme info

In Scotland, criminal records checks are carried out by Disclosure Scotland. Professionals working with children or vulnerable adults must join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. You can learn more at mygov.scot , or contact this professional directly.

Unfortunately, the premises I am based in are not easily accessible for those with significant mobility issues, as we are on the second floor and there is no elevator in the building. I do offer online appointments to compensate for this.
