About me

I am a UKCP registered counsellor/psychotherapist offering therapy and supervision in Alresford (near Winchester), Hampshire, and online.

I am experienced in helping with a variety of concerns, mild to severe, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, addiction, trauma/abuse, concerns with identity and self-esteem, life direction/vocation, and crises of personal meaning and spirituality.

My approach is to offer a healing relationship which provides insight into difficulties, space to explore how we relate to ourselves and our experiences, and practical means to initiate inner and outer life change.  I bring together transpersonal, analytic, mindfulness-, compassion- and complex trauma-oriented approaches.

I have several years' experience with the NHS, including as a one to one therapist and a group facilitator, and also spent three years as a Senior Psychological Therapist for Mind, the mental health charity. I am a trained Mindfulness group leader.

I offer short and medium term counselling work, as well as longer-term psychotherapy. Shorter term work (around 6 weeks in the first instance) would likely focus on particular distressing issues you are seeking to address, whilst psychotherapy tends to be open-ended and more exploratory in nature.

Psychotherapy may be suitable if you want or need to take the time and space to reflect on your experiences more deeply; it is designed to address more deep-seated and/or complex concerns, and is also suitable for those who wish to invest in their personal growth and development and live more in accordance with deeper values and life goals.

Please get in touch if you have any unanswered questions about my background, way of working or fees.  I offer a 20 minute initial telephone consultation at no cost.

If you would like to meet me and get an experience of how it might be for us to work together, likewise, please drop me a line to arrange an initial consultation.
