About me
Hello and welcome.
I'm Daniela, a counsellor offering long-term and open-ended online therapy for adults - with a particular passion for supporting and empowering women.
If you've found yourself here, you may be feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, anxious, or simply carrying more than anyone around you realises. Perhaps you've spent years putting everyone else's needs before your own, questioning yourself, or wondering why the past still affects you today.
Whatever has brought you here, you are welcome - seeking support can be scary and daunting, by being here you have already taken the first step which is not to be underestimated.
A Safe Space to Be Heard
I offer a warm, compassionate and confidential space where you can simply be yourself, without fear of judgement. My aim is to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard and understood at your own pace.
Together, we'll gently explore whatever feels important to you, helping you make sense of your experiences and the impact they've had on your life.
My Approach
As an integrative counsellor, I tailor therapy to you as an individual because no two people or life experiences are the same.
Integrative counselling simply means I draw from different therapeutic approaches rather than following one single model. This allows me to adapt the way we work together to suit your individual needs, creating an approach that feels right for you.
I work with clients on a range of issues, including anxiety, childhood / relational trauma and self-esteem. Whether you're processing past trauma, navigating the aftermath of abuse, struggling with anxiety or low self-worth, or simply feeling lost, we can work together at a pace that feels safe for you.
My role isn't to tell you what to do or to judge your choices, but to walk alongside you on your journey.
Taking the First Step
Finding the right counsellor is important, and it's okay to take your time.
If you'd like to get a sense of how I work, I offer a free 15-minute introductory telephone call. This gives us the opportunity to talk about what you're looking for, answer any questions you may have, and see whether working together feels like the right fit.
Training, qualifications & experience
- CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
- Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling
- Into the Light CPD – understanding the impacts of child sexual abuse on adult survivors
- Domestic Abuse CPD – recognising and understanding the many forms of domestic abuse
- Menopause and Perimenopause CPD – exploring the emotional and psychological impact of hormonal change
My passion for supporting women is rooted in both my professional experience and my counselling work. While training as a counsellor, I volunteered at Sutton Women's Centre, providing therapy for women who had experienced domestic abuse, childhood trauma and other forms of abuse. This deepened my understanding of the courage it takes, not only to survive these experiences, but to begin healing from them.
Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked for over a decade as a Personal Assistant to the Head of Safeguarding within Surrey County Council's Children's Social Services. During this time, I developed a deep awareness of the profound and long-lasting impact abuse and trauma can have throughout a person's life.
These experiences continue to inform my work with empathy, sensitivity and respect for every individual's unique journey.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
