About me

No two people arrive at therapy in the same way. I recognise that everyone’s experiences are unique, and I draw on a range of integrative approaches so that our work together can be meaningful and relevant to you.

My work is grounded in a person-centred approach, where we work together to build a trusting therapeutic relationship. This can provide a platform for change to begin when you feel genuinely heard, accepted and understood. From here, there can be space to explore what matters most to you and make sense of the challenges you’re facing, however they show up.

As awareness develops, there may be opportunities to respond in ways that feel more authentic and aligned with who you want to be.

I know that we live in a fast-paced world with many expectations and pressures. At times this can leave us feeling disconnected from what feels right for us, or acting in ways that don’t feel authentic. I aim to offer a space that is mindful of these pressures, where you can slow down and reflect. Over time, clients often describe gaining clarity, relating to themselves with greater compassion, and trusting their own judgement when making decisions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I began my career in frontline safeguarding roles, supporting individuals with complex and diverse needs, including several years working in homeless services. These roles showed me the genuine impact of human connection and what can happen when people are given the space to be heard and believed in.

Alongside this professional experience, I have also faced my own challenges with mental health in the past. These experiences played an important role in my decision to become a therapist and continue to shape the way I approach my work. I am deeply motivated by the resilience and inner strength I see in people, even in the most challenging situations.

I am a trained Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist and completed my Master’s degree with distinction. My training allows me to support people with a wide range of challenges.

I have experience supporting individuals with a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma, addiction, low self-worth, identity issues, bereavement, and relationship difficulties.

You may come to therapy with a clear sense of what you want to explore, or you may simply know that something doesn’t feel right. Both are completely welcome, and we can work together to understand whatever you are experiencing.

The approaches I draw from include Person-Centred Therapy (PCT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness-based approaches. This range allows me to adapt our work so that it supports what feels most important to you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of counselling I deal with

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I have worked with many clients who are either new to the therapy process or who have had difficult experiences in previous therapy. I aim to offer a space where we can move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, allowing trust in the process to develop.

I also have experience providing both time-limited therapy and longer-term, open-ended work, depending on what feels most helpful for you.

In the past, I have facilitated men’s peer support groups, which has deepened my understanding of the unique challenges men can face when seeking mental health support. Although there has been progress in this area, I recognise that many barriers can still remain.

If this resonates with you, I welcome the opportunity to connect whenever you feel ready.

Further information

I understand that reaching out to a therapist can feel daunting. You can contact me for a free 20-minute introductory call, which can be done over the phone or via video. During this time, you can ask any questions, and share any concerns you have.

Many clients find that this conversation helps them feel more at ease with the process and gives them a sense of whether they’d like to continue working with me.

There’s no obligation to continue after this. What matters most is that you find a therapist who feels like the best fit to support you on this journey, whether that’s me or someone else.
