About me
Hi, I’m Damaris (or Dee if you prefer) and as a counsellor, I am aware that there are so many reasons why someone may want to seek help. Most of us at some point in our lives experience challenges; be it anger management, crippling anxiety, struggles with relationships, work or study stress, chronic illness feeling down or just not feeling that we are enjoying life as we would like to, or we know we could.
I know it can feel overwhelming to contact a therapist and tell them you may need support, however, it is never too late to ask for help and for many it is the hardest element yet its proof you are ready for change.
I offer one to one support in a safe confidential space. This can either be face to face in clinic's in the CF10 or CF14 area, or I offer online sessions via zoom.
Here without being judged you can gently explore your concerns at a speed which is right for you; If desired, empower you to have healthy strategies for the life ahead of you. Or you may just want to sit, reflect and explore your experiences, thoughts and feelings, this alone can be really beneficial for your wellbeing.
I have experience working in areas such as bereavement, domestic abuse and hate crimes to name a few. Which enables me to work across a wide field of issues such as anger, anxiety, chronic illness, confusion, guilt, self-esteem and trauma.
I know trying to work out whether therapy is right for you and then who is the right therapist for you can be incredibly confusing; therefore I offer a free 15-minute phone or zoom consultation. Here you can ask me any questions you have about therapy and gauge if I am the right match for you. If you would like to do so, please contact me so we can arrange a convenient time for both of us.
Please note, I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society and abide by their ethical framework for good practice.
If you are still reading this; thank you. Should you wish to commence your therapeutic journey with me, I genuinely look forward to meeting you.
