BSc (MBACP) therapist & counsellor

About me

Hi, I'm Craig, a counsellor & psychotherapist. I provide warm, down-to-earth therapy and have worked with people from all walks of life, in both private practice and charity settings.

You may have a specific issue affecting your life, or a vague sense of not feeling right, but want to understand yourself more deeply. Taking the time to talk to someone, and express difficult thoughts and feelings, in a safe space, really can help.

As a therapist, my role is not to give advice, but to support you at your pace, in the way that’s best for you. We can talk about anything, I won’t judge you, but I can bring knowledge and experience to help you find your best way through your struggles.

I’m an integrative therapist which means I blend a range of therapy approaches. This enables me to help you look afresh at your problems and how to work through them from various angles, appreciating the true complexity of life and all that makes us feel the way we do.

My approach to therapy is especially well suited towards helping with feelings of anxiety (general anxiety, social or health anxiety) and depression. As well as relationship difficulties, bereavement, cancer, trauma/abuse and many more issues, some listed below.

Finding someone you feel comfortable with is perhaps the most important thing... Feel free to give me a call, text or e-mail for a free initial chat and for more info about me and how therapy might help.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
