Craig Brand - BSc (MBACP) existential therapist & counsellor
Hi, I'm Craig, a counsellor & psychotherapist. I have worked with people from all walks of life in both private practice and charity settings, and I can offer flexible sessions – weekdays or weekends.
You may have a specific issue affecting your life, or a vague sense of not feeling right, but want to understand yourself more deeply. Taking the time to talk to someone really can help.
My approach to therapy is particularly well suited to helping people with all kinds of anxiety. That may be general anxiety, or specific feelings of social anxiety, health anxiety, or death anxiety. Often low mood/depression can be linked too. You may feel you go between periods of anxiety, then much lower, flatter periods - that's really natural, but can feel really unsettling.
I also often help people with difficulties like: bereavement, the effects of cancer/illness, relationship problems, violence/abuse, living with mental heath diagnosis, as well as difficulties in living with intensity/giftedness/creativity.
I’m an existential-integrative therapist which means I blend a range of therapy approaches. I won't label you, or feel you have anything “wrong” with you. Life is hard, complicated and can have a huge effect on all of us.
Existential therapy is not about dwelling on the past. Our biology affects us, our past experiences affect us, and life and the future affect us too. But how we understand and respond to all of those effects, how we choose to live right now, is the most powerful tool we have.
Existential therapy is like much counselling & therapy, it's about giving you time and space to talk, be heard and understood. It's also about helping you understand yourself and your life more deeply, so you can make the choices that help alleviate your problems. That may be about changing some parts of your life, or learning how to accept and live with others that can't be changed. Either way it can empower you to make the most of the time you have.
Finding someone you feel comfortable with is perhaps the most important thing... Feel free to give me a call, text or e-mail for a free initial chat and for more info about me and how therapy might help.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority.
