I have a particular interest/skills in working with anxiety, depression, problematic drug and alcohol use, HIV/AIDS/Hepatitis, cancer dreams and midlife issues.

With 32 years experience in 'people work' I have a bright, spacious dedicated therapy room in a Georgian building in Central Exeter with good access to parking and public transport. I also see clients online.

I am an 'approved provider' for several health insurance companies.

Training, qualifications & experience

Prior to training as a psychotherapist I was employed for over 20 years by local and national charities in the fields of mental health, drug and alcohol misuse, HIV/AIDS/Hepatitis and homelessness. Alongside this, I was also self employed as a freelance trainer and consultant in the field of 'Drugs, Alcohol and User Involvement'. Through the course of this work I completed supplementary trainings in a diverse range of therapeutic approaches e.g. Rogerian Counselling', Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Behavioural approaches, etc. and on a wide range of issues such as 'Working with People with Personality Disorders'. Working with Clients with a Dual Diagnosis', Working with Drug and Alcohol Using Clients, HIV and AIDS, Working with Issues of Self Harm etc.

On completing a Foundation course in Core Process Psychotherapy in 2001, I undertook a 4 year MA in Core Process Psychotherapy at the Karuna Institute in Devon (validated by Middlesex University). This led to registration and accreditation with UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy). I am also a member of the 'Association of Core Process Psychotherapists' and 'Taunton Association of Psychotherapists'.

I continue to develop professionally through attendance at relevant CPD courses.
