Clare Venner MA(Hons), MA, FdSc Counselling, MBACP
Getting to this stage and actively looking for a counsellor is a big step forward. It takes courage to make the initial contact.
You may be struggling with any number of issues or problems and need to get them off your chest. Let me help you feel better and lead a happy, balanced and fulfilled life.
I am an experienced counsellor, warm and down to earth. I am married with two teenage children and an assortment of animals. I love the outdoors.
My counselling room is a safe, calm and confidential environment in which to work with you. We can explore your worries and concerns, I will accept whatever you bring. ***
My practice is located in the heart of the South Shropshire countryside. It is easily accessible from Cleobury Mortimer, Clee Hill, Tenbury Wells, Ludlow and Kidderminster.
***DURING THE COVID 19 CRISIS LOCKDOWN I WILL NOT BE SEEING CLIENTS FACE TO FACE BUT OFFERING ON LINE COUNSELLING. PLEASE GIVE ME A CALL AND WE CAN DISCUSS THE WAY FORWARD.
Training, qualifications & experience
My counselling training is person centred and this is the basis of how I work, building a trusting therapeutic relationship in which positive change can take place.
I do integrate other skills and techniques when appropriate, such as:- elements of psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), transactional analysis (TA), and mindfulness.
I have a particular interest in addictions born out of personal experience. I have worked for Pathways to Recovery and Aquarius Shropshire in recent years, helping individuals over come the harms of alcohol.
In addition to my private practice I have been a voluntary counsellor for North Worcestershire Bereavement Support (NWBS) since 2011, helping people deal with the loss of a loved one.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
