About me
I offer a safe, judgement-free space! As an experienced, BACP-registered therapist based in Thatcham, Berkshire. I work with both adults and children. I specialise in helping 13 to 25-year-olds navigate life's ups and downs. Whether you are dealing with overwhelming anxiety, relationship difficulties, or just figuring out who you are, I am here to listen, support, and help you find your way forward and reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and finding the right person to talk to is so important.
As an integrative therapist - my approach blends Person-Centred counselling skills with other Humanistic approaches. This allows me to focus on what helps you. I provide an empathic, non-judgemental space where you are respected and made comfortable as we explore what is important for you.
Concessions available: for Foster Carers and Care Leavers and those on low income.
Location: I offer face-to-face sessions at a very comfortable and tranquil clinic in West Berkshire. There is ample free parking, and it is on a bus route.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am BACP registered and qualified as a Therapeutic Counsellor in 2002. My training, combined with working in Charities, Secondary Schools and in private practice over the last 20+ years, has given me a broad experience of applying therapeutic skills with adults, children and young people.
This has refined my empathy, patience, and reflective capacity, allowing me to effectively support clients in navigating their own challenges and fostering resilience.
*my post qualifying training is available upon request*
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
