About me
Welcome to my directory listing.
Finding the right therapist is a daunting prospect and I hope I can clarify some areas so you can decide if you think I could be right for you.
I have my own small welcoming practice based near Long Melford Suffolk which is an ideal location for clients travelling from Essex and Suffolk.
I work with people of all ages and specialise in the therapy of children and adolescents and adults whose problems developed as a result of earlier experience.
I work with most presenting issues but have keen interest in anxiety and anxiety related issues. I also have an interest and knowledge in working with early childhood trauma.
My training and counselling approach is mainly psychodynamic, however I have a natural lean towards a more integrative way of working and recognise the need to be flexible, particularly when working with children. My way of working is adapted to suit the individual client’s needs and pulls from all models and theory at times. I offer talking therapy and the use of creative media, play, art and sand tray work as a form of communicating as children often work metaphorically.
My key approach is non-directive - I accept and work with whatever the person brings to the session without judgement or prejudice. Ultimately I believe no matter what the model or training background relationship is key, building a rapport and trusted relationship and being attuned to your client and their needs is essential.
I have experience working with; stress, anxiety, friendship difficulties, identity, bullying, self- harm, anger, trauma , bereavement, eating disorders, confidence/ self- esteem , divorce/family separation , attachment issues, School refusal/phobia, sibling difficulties.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
