About me

My name is Clare Fowler and I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor offering online sessions (zoom) as well as face to face sessions in Devon.

I am registered with both the BACP and NCS.

I am an Integrative practitioner, which means that I have studied all of the main theories of psychotherapy, such as psychodynamic, person centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), amongst others. Being an Integrative practitioner, means that I can draw upon a broad range of skills, bringing flexibility to our work. I work with the client at the centre of my practice, so we can be sure we find a style that suits you

Life throws all kinds of difficulties our way and whilst we manage to deal with most, we can find ourselves feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how to get back on track.

Maybe you are experiencing feelings that you don’t understand and need help to find your way through the fog, or maybe you know what you would like to explore but need someone who can listen and support you.

I am here to help you find a way to understand how you are feeling and my goal is to help you navigate your way through your journey and out of the fog.

It is important that you find the right person for you, no matter the qualifications or level of experience, if you don’t gel with your therapist, then therapy won’t work, so I would encourage you to take time to seek out a professional that you feel you can work with. With this in mind, I offer all prospective clients a free initial assessment.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold the following qualifications:

  • Level 7 Diploma in Online Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Clinical Supervision
  • Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling
  • Level 4 Diploma in Integrating Theory and Practice
  • Level 4 Diploma in Addictive Behaviours
  • Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness
  • Transactional Analysis 101.

In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
