How counselling can help
I offer a non-judgmental space where I will listen to you empathically. My approach is humanistic and this means that I believe in our own ability to grow and change and that all aspects of ourselves matter if we are to achieve the change that we want. If you want to know a little bit about my theoretical background it is integrative; a blend of Person-Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis. I will help identify your goals with you and then walk alongside you with compassion and we can notice together what is helpful to you throughout your journey. This might include recognising unhelpful patterns that keep you from your goals and clearly expressing your needs. If you would like to explore problems creatively I can offer ways that we can achieve this even working online.
I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework, have regular supervision, a requirement of all BACP registered counsellors, and I am registered with the ICO. I will treat your confidentiality with respect and care and will provide you with information on how I treat any data you share with me.
Other skills I can bring
Prior to qualifying I have run my own business, worked in a corporate business environment involved in media and studied the use of language. In addition to my counselling qualifications, I bring my skills and experience in communication and my interest in language and power where this may be of benefit to you.
Currently..
As social distancing measures are now relaxing I am offering a limited number of face to face sessions on the East/West Sussex border. I will continue to offer Zoom sessions for clients who appreciate the convenience of this medium. With Zoom I can work with you in any location within the UK providing you have a confidential space for our sessions and adequate wifi.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
