About me
Sometimes life can feel difficult. You might be feeling stressed, 'stuck' and unhappy with your life. You may be suffering from everyday worries or from more long-term problems or issues like depression or anxiety. Talking to a trained counsellor can help you understand and define your thoughts and feelings, to help you make sense of what is happening in your life.
I am a qualified Humanistic & Integrative Counsellor, working from home; where I can offer you a quiet, relaxing and safe space to be. I offer both long and short-term counselling, with experience of counselling adults and young people covering a wide range of issues.
MAKING CONTACT
I know only too well how intimidating it can feel to make initial contact - I welcome you to email me or phone my mobile number where you can leave me a message about how best to contact you. We can then maybe, take the next step together and arrange an initial meeting.
INITIAL MEETING - INTRODUCTORY SESSION
The Introductory session ( free half hour via what’s app voice/ video, FaceTime voice or video) will give us a chance to talk about what brings you to counselling, plus it gives me a chance to talk a little about how I work. Together we can decide if this is the way forward for you, there being no obligation at all for you to agree to further counselling sessions if this does not feel right for you.
MY COUNSELLING APPROACH
Making sure the counselling environment is welcoming, comfortable and private is of great importance to me. I believe this adds to the trust that is essential for my clients to feel, as we explore whatever it is that brings them to counselling; all work carried out in the utmost of confidentiality.
Your well-being is my priority. My intention as a counsellor is to accept and value you as a fellow human being. I will offer you my respectful and non-judgemental way of being as I invite and welcome you into a relationship with me, where we can work together, to help you explore your thoughts and feelings.
I will not be telling you what to do or how to think, but I will be offering you my full attention as you work out what it is you may be needing at this moment - whether it's making changes to the way you choose to live, to perhaps feeling happier and more fulfilled with your life at present.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
