Claire York, Dawn Wasnidge & Catherine Joy - BSc, MBACP
Hello from, Claire, Dawn and Catherine, we work within 'A New Day Counselling Practice' and are all fully qualified, professional and experienced Counsellors offering a comprehensive, accessible and flexible service across private and commercial settings.
Our approach to counselling is primarily Person-Centred. However, knowledge gained through further training, including humanistic, psychodynamic, C.B.T. and group therapies, enables us to support an integrated relationship focussed on the individual client’s needs and expectations.
Our counselling experience includes working with clients who have shared a range of issues, including anxiety, stress, depression, bereavement, relationships, addiction, domestic abuse, sexual/incest abuse, eating disorders, self harm, parenting, disability discrimination, cultural difference, loneliness, work related problems and many other concerns.
Our aims as counsellors are to provide a safe and supportive environment built on trust, mutuality, respect, in a non-judgemental manner and offering empathy to all our clients. Given the right environment we will facilitate you to explore your experiences and gain a greater understanding which may lead to increased clarity and the identification of choices and possibilities. We will work with you to explore your individual needs and requirements, at your own pace, respecting your autonomy and abiding by the ethics and principles of our profession and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
As members of the BACP we are bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure. We access regular independent Supervision in accordance with BACP guidelines, to ensure we are always working within the very best interests of our clients.
Our premises are offered in safe and comfortable settings, throughout Sheffield, Worksop and Rotherham. We are also able to offer workplace counselling within Employers premises.
