About me

Many people come to counselling feeling like they are coping on the outside while quietly carrying anxiety, overthinking, stress, trauma or loss underneath. You may have been managing for some time before deciding to seek support. If you are reading this, you have already taken a meaningful first step.

I offer a calm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can pause, reflect and begin to make sense of what you are experiencing. You don’t need to have everything figured out — we can go at a pace that feels right for you. I offer a brave space where things can be explored gently and without pressure.

I work with adults, teenagers, parents and carers, supporting difficulties such as anxiety, trauma and PTSD (including complex trauma), grief and loss, relational challenges and life transitions.

My approach is integrative and relational. I place strong emphasis on building a genuine therapeutic relationship and working at relational depth, while also gently challenging patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Alongside longer-term therapeutic work, I also draw on Solution-Focused Brief Therapy where appropriate, helping clients feel steadier, more resourced and more connected to their strengths.

Before establishing my private practice, I spent 16 years working in a specialist SEMH educational setting, therapeutically supporting young people, parents, carers and staff. This experience deeply informs my trauma-aware, attachment-informed approach.

You’re very welcome to get in touch — we can take things one step at a time, at your pace.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

I primarily offer online counselling via secure video platform, providing flexible and accessible support from the comfort of your own space.

In addition, I offer limited in-person sessions on Saturdays from an established counselling setting in Warrington. I also provide walk-and-talk therapy as an alternative way of working for those who feel more comfortable outdoors. Home visits may be considered on an individual basis, depending on circumstances and suitability.

Confidentiality and professionalism are central to my practice. I work in accordance with BACP ethical guidelines and GDPR requirements, and I engage in regular supervision and ongoing professional development.

My approach is relational and integrative. I place strong emphasis on building a safe and genuine therapeutic relationship, working at a pace that feels manageable for you. Sessions may include reflective exploration, gentle challenge, and where appropriate, practical strategies to help you feel more grounded and resourced between appointments.

In our first session, we will explore what has brought you to counselling, what you hope might feel different, and whether we feel a good fit to work together.

I aim to offer a steady, compassionate space where you can feel heard, understood and supported.
