About me

Are you looking for psychological support to help you overcome trauma? Whether you have experienced childhood trauma including child abuse and neglect, bullying, physical or sexual assault, domestic abuse, road traffic accident, racism, emotional neglect, unmet psychological needs from parents, war, or other types of distressing events, we can make sense of your traumatic experiences in therapy.

Many psychological difficulties such as anxiety, depression, addiction, OCD, and other complex issues often stem from trauma.  Whether or not you have a formal diagnosis of PTSD, we can work together to help you overcome the impact of trauma.

I am an accredited Counselling Psychologist with over 10 years of clinical experience across a variety of settings in the UK, France, India, and the Philippines. I support individuals across the life span, from children (and their families), young people, and adults. In my practice, I use Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as my main approaches. I also draw on other approaches to tailor therapy to your needs and goals.

I have extensive experience working with individuals from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds, especially from South Asia, Southwest Asia and North Africa (SWANA), Carribean, and West African region.  I have also worked therapeutically with LGBTQIA+ clients.

I believe our mental health is interwoven with our heritage, our culture, and the historical and political events that shape us, and that real healing from trauma goes beyond symptom reduction.  If you would like us to discuss wider systemic issues which may have shaped your life, we can reflect in therapy on the impact of racism, Islamophobia, patriarchy, misogyny, classism, heteronormativity, or colonialism.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch by booking a free, no commitment 20-minute consultation to see if we are a good fit.
