About me

Are you looking for support that respects the unique layers of your background? Whether that’s family expectations, social inequalities, childhood trauma, domestic abuse, or the weight of structural racism, seeking professional mental health support can help you make sense of these difficulties and guide you to cope better in spite of your struggles.

If you are looking for a therapeutic space where your personal history and your cultural identity are both seen and honoured, I would be privileged to be part of your journey towards better wellbeing.

I am a UK-trained, HCPC-registered Counselling Psychologist with over 10 years of experience. I specialise in supporting individuals who come from a global majority background.

My journey has led me to live and work in the Philippines, India and France before settling in the UK. This global perspective is the heart of my practice, and I believe our mental health is interwoven with our heritage, our culture, and the historical and political events that shape us.

I support children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing:

  • Trauma and PTSD (including survivors of child abuse and neglect, sexual violence, war, political oppression, and domestic abuse)
  • Anxiety and Depression (including OCD, body-image issues, health anxiety, low self-esteem, health anxiety)
  • Complex Mental Health (including personality disorders, addiction, emotional dysregulation difficulties)

Although I have experience working with individuals diagnosed with bipolar affective disorder and psychosis, I am unfortunately unable to work with individuals who support from a multidisciplinary team.

For individuals who are struggling with trauma symptoms, I am able to offer intensive Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) - 1 1/2 hours per session, 3x - 4x a week.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at the University of East London in 2021.

At present, I practice within an adult mental health service in the NHS, where I support individuals navigating moderate to severe mental health difficulties.

My professional journey has allowed me to work within various specialised settings, including:

  • Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), secondary mental health teams, and
psycho-oncology (supporting those affected by cancer).
  • Secondary school counselling and primary mental health care.
  • Not-for-profit mental health hospitals and charities offering mental health support for asylum seekers
    and refugees.

I am trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including the following:

  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) - trained at EMDR Consultancy
  • Narrative Exposure Therapy - trained with the pioneers of NET via the NET Institute
  • Mentalisation-Based Therapy - trained at Anna Freud Centre
  • Compassion-Focused Therapy - trained at Compassionate Mind
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy - trained at DBT British Isles and APT
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Psychodynamic Therapy (relational approach and attachment theory)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
