About me

I know how difficult it can be to make the first appointment but this first step will support you to make changes in your life. My private counselling practice is confidential and welcoming. It will help you explore the things in life that may be bothering you, however, big or small.

I am a highly qualified and experienced Counsellor helping people with all types of difficulties, for example, Anxiety, (Health Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Panic, OCD), Low Self-Esteem, Stress, Work-Related Stress, Relationship Problems, Anger Management, Depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I specialise in treating people with Anxiety and OCD.

The first session will support you to explore things that you might want to change, identifying existing difficulties and other issues that might be contributing towards problematic areas in your life.

Sessions are either face to face or virtual, with online appointments via Zoom, Skype or via the telephone. Counselling sessions typically last an hour, depending on your individual needs. Sessions take place weekly, fortnightly, or monthly.

I have previously worked as an associate CBT counsellor for Cwm Taff NHS counselling service, and for Cardiff University, and worked with other large healthcare providers including referrals through an employee assistance programme and other health and wellbeing providers.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
