CBT Psychotherapist (B.A.Hons-Dip CBT) MBACP

About me

A warm hello, and welcome to my page.

Finding the right therapist — and taking that first step to book a session — can feel daunting. There are so many of us out there, each with our own unique skills and qualities. I could list qualifications and modalities, but in truth I believe many types of therapy can be effective.

I have many years of experience and thousands of clinical hours supporting clients as they work towards their goals.

I could list qualifications and modalities, but in truth I believe many types of therapy can be effective. What matters most is the therapeutic relationship — feeling safe, understood, and able to open up. So take your time, read about me, and trust your gut… it’s normally right!

People are my passion, as is improving mental health. When our mental health is struggling, life can feel overwhelming — as though we’re looking at ourselves, others, and the world through a muddy lens. My role is to help you gently clean that lens so you can see things more clearly and realistically. Together, we’ll challenge the negative thoughts and patterns that keep you stuck, and build the knowledge, skills, and confidence to move toward a more authentic and fulfilling life.

I specialise in counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for adults and young people experiencing low mood, anxiety, and self‑esteem difficulties, including:

Generalised anxiety
Panic attacks
Health anxiety
OCD
Post‑traumatic stress
Post‑natal anxiety
Phobias
Trauma and its effects
Your treatment plan will always be unique to you — tailored to your goals, your pace, and what you need most right now. My aim is to help you feel more in control of your emotions, your choices, and your life.

I offer in‑person sessions, as well as online video and telephone sessions, depending on what feels most comfortable for you.

I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your journey toward clarity, resilience, and emotional wellbeing!

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, an experienced Counsellor, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Over the years I’ve been fortunate to work with people from all walks of life, accumulating thousands of clinical hours supporting clients as they process their past, meet their goals, and move toward a more grounded and authentic version of themselves.

At the heart of my practice is a commitment to genuineness, warmth, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. Whatever your story is, you will be met without judgement. My role is not to advise or criticise, but to support, explore, and teach you practical skills that help you understand yourself more deeply and manage your emotions with greater confidence. We work collaboratively, always with your goals at the centre.

I specialise in providing structured CBT therapy for adults and young people experiencing low mood, anxiety, and self‑esteem or confidence difficulties, including the many forms anxiety can take. I also have extensive experience working with individuals who have lived through trauma, including emotional and physical abuse.

I offer confidential counselling and CBT therapy from my private office at Wilson Business Centre — a calm, accessible location with free on‑site parking and no need to navigate city‑centre traffic. For those who prefer the flexibility of remote work, I also offer online video sessions.

I am continually inspired by the power of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and the transformations that unfold when clients begin applying therapeutic learning to their daily lives. Together, we will work to understand what is causing distress right now and move step by step toward the changes you want to make.

I take great pride in the progress my clients achieve, and I look forward to supporting you on your own journey.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Please note ......  Due to  the closure of the St James Business Centre  which has been my much loved business 'home' since 2018, I have been fortunate to secure new tenancy at the beautiful Wilson Business Park which is located within Hillington Business park.  I was keen to secure a premises away from town and city centres which offers motorway access from all areas and plenty of parking (and an easily accessibly room within that building ....with a  window.....window essential!!) :).  Wilson Business Park is very close to the Glasgow's famous Braehead shopping Centre and if you are familiar with  the Paisley area (Barshaw Park or David Loyd) it is only minutes away through the 'back roads'  no need to go near the motorway or Braehead roundabout at all!  Therapy will be provided at my new business 'home' from April 1st 2024.

Please see link below to Wilson Business Park below. My room will be at the top of the stairs, turn left, and first door on the left.  Waiting area downstairs if you are early.
