About me
It takes courage to reach out and to talk about difficulties you might be experiencing in your life. We will work at entirely your own pace. My aim is to create an environment where you will feel seen, heard, valued and empowered.
My practice is grounded in empathy, respect and professionalism.
As an experienced integrative counsellor I draw on a variety of evidence based approaches, which include, psychodynamic, person-centred and trauma-informed practice, which in turn supports us to form an adaptable, therapeutic relationship.
You know yourself intuitively and I can help you re-connect with yourself. Often we intuitively know what feels right for us but trauma, addiction, difficult relationships and life experiences can disconnect us from our inner knowing. Through compassionate listening and my integrative approach I can help you re-discover your inner guidance and locate what it is you feel you need. You are the expert on your own needs - I will support you to explore this in our sessions.
I am respectful and compassionate - my aim is to help you better understand yourself, process difficult/traumatic experiences in order to help you move towards balance, resilience and fulfilment in your life. I provide a non-judgmental space where you can openly explore what is going on for you in a trusted and confidential space.
Talking about and exploring your experiences and feelings can give an opportunity to consider the roots of your behaviours and reactions. It can also provide an insight into what is no longer benefiting you in your life.
When you can do this with self-compassion - this can bring enormous change.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
