About me

Hello my name is Chris, I am a fully Accredited CBT/EMDR therapist with BABCP, and my core profession is a Mental Health Nurse. I have worked in the NHS for 28 years and continue to do so. I am qualified to Masters level in CBT having qualified through Derby University, I am also a fully qualified CBT Supervisor. I have worked with a range of disorders and have extensive experience in treating all all anxiety and mood disorders.

I also have experience of working with teenagers from the age of 14+ in an Early Intervention service.

I am now offering Private CBT or EMDR as I have established my own private practice. I offer treatment for all anxiety Disorders, including OCD, PTSD. I also treat depression, chronic pain and Eating disorders. I work privately for some of the largest healthcare providers in the UK.

I am fully insured, I can offer home visits and also disabled access at private clinics should this be required.

I place high emphasis on confidentially and offer a relaxing collaborative approach to therapy.

Training, qualifications & experience

My training and experience is extensive. My background is as a Mental Health Nurse (RMN) and I worked within secondary care and I have worked in a number of specialist services for people with severe mental health problems and common Mental Health issues.

For the last 12 years I have been a Cognitive Behavioural therapist and I am fully accredited with the BABCP, I am trained to Masters level. I am also a qualified Eye Movement Desensitisation reprocessing therapist, specifically for work with trauma.

I am also a qualified CBT Supervisor having done my training at Nottingham University.

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
