About me

Hi and welcome to my professional profile. I am pleased to introduce myself to you and hope I can be of some assistance in supporting you to find the right counsellor. I work with both adults and children. You may be here because you have been experiencing stress in your life, maybe this is due to work, relationship issues or a relationship break down. You maybe suffering with anxiety or depression. Counselling can help, offering you a safe, relaxed and confidential space to work through your difficulties you can be confident with me that I will listen attentively, offer insight and support you to find clarity where perhaps there has been confusion. I care passionately about what I do, which is why I do it. I believe in the power of talking therapies because I know they work. I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor and have worked with individuals in a variety of settings including charities, schools and private practice. I take a largely person centred approach but with my many years experience I am able to draw on other therapeutic models as needed. I work with clients on both a short term and long term basis depending on your therapeutic goals and desired outcomes. I work with individual adults and children from 4 years upwards, with children I integrate the use of play, arts, music and movement as this is most often a young child's preferred medium of self expression.

I currently private practice in a countryside location situated just on the outskirts of Milton Keynes which is easily accessible from Aylesbury and Leighton Buzzard.

I have a keen interest in areas including domestic violence and drug and alcohol dependency. I can use creative arts in my therapy and specialise in using therapeutic play with children aged 4 years and up.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
