About me

Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile.

I've been practicing as a counsellor for over 5 years. During this time, I've worked for the NHS, charities, and schools. In 2020, I created my private counselling practice, aiming to make counselling as accessible as possible by offering flexible and remote sessions. I am able to work with adults of all ages but specialise in counselling young people and adults between the ages of 18 and 35.

I am an integrative counsellor, which means I use different techniques to best suit your needs. I work in a trauma-informed, client-centred way and also draw on CBT, systemic and psychodynamic approaches. I can support you to heal from childhood trauma, improve your self-worth, navigate relationship challenges, and better tolerate difficult or distressing emotions. I can also help you to explore, understand, and find tools to cope with anxiety, stress, anger, and low mood.

I am a neurodivergent-affirming counsellor and have a particular interest in supporting clients with ADHD and ASD, especially those adjusting to late diagnosis or feeling that they may be experiencing challenges in relationships or at work in connection to being neurodivergent.

To me, the relationship between counsellor and client is the most important part of counselling. I will therefore make sure you feel comfortable and safe in our sessions. I like to work with you to decide what your goals for counselling are and the approach and different techniques we might use. I always encourage you to tell me if something isn't feeling like the right fit for you.

Session types offered (all 50 minutes in length):

  • Phone call
  • Instant message (What's App)
  • Video call (Teams)

Sessions can be a mixture of the above if this fits best around your life. I can also be flexible with how often you would like counselling and offer weekly, fortnightly, monthly, and 'as and when'/single sessions.

Counselling is extremely personal and all counsellors are different, so it's normal to not get along with every counsellor you speak to. I can help you to decide whether counselling with me is right for you by offering a free 15 minute phone call. Please get in touch to arrange this or with any other questions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I studied MSc Counselling Children and Young People at the University of Northampton and also have an undergraduate degree in Psychology.

I have additionally completed further CPD/short courses in the following areas:

  • Understanding ADHD and ASD
  • Wellbeing support for neurodivergent people
  • Video/phone call therapy
  • Self-harm
  • Suicide risk assessment
  • LGBTQIA+ awareness
  • Interpersonal therapy for adolescents
  • Compassion focussed approach to trauma
  • Safeguarding/child protection

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
