About me

You are not alone. Seeking support and asking for help takes courage. And you know what? Life is hard, sometimes really hard. At times, it can feel like no one is really listening - I provide a judgement-free space for you to be honestly heard and listened to. I will not give you advice or tell you what to do or how to live. Instead, we will work through your stuff together so you can choose how you want to move forward.

Therapy isn’t about the therapist; it’s about you facing you, and facing yourself can be scary - it is essential you feel comfortable that you’ve chosen the right person to partner with on this journey. Hopefully, I am the right person, but if not, that’s OK too. I may be able to connect you with someone who could be a better match for you.

I offer counselling, life coaching and personal consultancy starting from £60 (concessions available - please inquire).

Counselling

I am trained as an integrative counsellor. This means that I draw on a range of modalities and tools to tailor therapy to best serve you. My core therapeutic modalities are person-centred, existential, psychodynamic, transactional analysis, and Gestalt. Above all, our relationship is central. I will seek to create a safe, trusting and honest space for you so that you can feel comfortable bringing whatever is going on for you.

Coaching

As defined by the ICF, coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential. I have an unwavering belief in the client’s ability to maximise their potential, and I facilitate moments of new awareness and self-discovery. I have worked with a range of clients from different industries and backgrounds, both corporate and charitable.

I particularly enjoy working with women who wish to gain clarity on where they are and develop the confidence to go after what they want from their lives.

Personal Consultancy

Personal Consultancy is a framework (developed by Popovic and Jinks) that allows me to use both counselling and coaching with a client. This allows us to do the deep, excavating work of counselling in addition to developing ways to maximise your behaviours and achieve your personal development goals through coaching. Imagine building a house: we first have to dig deep before we can begin to build anything new. Personal Consultancy provides a holistic way to do this.

NB. I also offer faith-based Christian counselling or coaching. However, my default is not to include this unless requested. If you wish, we can discuss this in our initial conversation. I have worked with clients from diverse faiths and can connect and empathise with the shared experience of being human.

Training, qualifications & experience

Counselling & Personal Consultancy

I am a qualified counsellor and a  registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy  (BACP). I have experience as a college counsellor offering therapy to 16+-year-olds in addition to providing counselling for carers.

Coaching

I am an accredited Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation with 3000+ hours of experience in group and 1:1 settings.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
