My name is Cheryl and welcome to my website. I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist. I offer a warm, safe and confidential space for you to talk about thoughts and feelings that you are struggling to contain and finding that your day to day life is affected.
My skill is to listen without judgement and help you to make sense of your difficulties by offering new perspectives on them and the impact you are feeling. It often helps just to have someone to listen who is not your family or friends.
I have my own private practice which is based at Ransom Wood Business Park which is set in acres of woodland on the outskirts of Mansfield. There is plenty of free parking and a cafe/restaurant on site. It is a tranquil setting that will help bring some calm into your thoughts

I understand that seeking help and finding a counsellor can be daunting. Therefore, I offer a free 30 minute face-to-face session for us to meet and have a chat to ensure I am the right therapist for you. Here we discuss your expectations of counselling and answer any questions you may have about the process.
I offer day time and evening appointments Monday to Friday and occasional Saturdays to enable clients to fit appointments around their busy schedules. One hour sessions cost £40 and these can be booked and paid for in advance
We all have times in our life that challenge us. It might be happening to you right now. It may be things that have happened to you in your past that continue to affect your quality of life. It can be a very difficult decision to come for counselling, you may have asked yourselves lots of questions before getting to this stage. It is very important that you feel comfortable and safe and that you trust the counsellor you choose. It really does help to have someone you can talk to in a completely confidential way. I won't judge you, I will listen and allow you the space to make sense of your worries and help you to find an inner calm.
My therapeutic approach is ethical and professional according to the BACP Ethical Framework. I have a full indemnity insurance and an enhanced DBS.
