About me

Supporting young people can feel overwhelming—especially when they’re struggling with anxiety, emotional outbursts, withdrawal, or the effects of past trauma.

If you’re a young person feeling lost or misunderstood, or a parent worried about your child, you’re not alone. I offer a safe, calm space where difficult thoughts and feelings can begin to make sense.

Who I support

Whilst I have experience working with adults, I specialise in working with adolescents and young people up to age 30 who may be experiencing:

  • Anxiety, low mood, or emotional overwhelm
  • The impact of complex or developmental trauma
  • Difficulties with identity, self-esteem, or relationships
  • Feeling shut down, angry, or unable to express emotions
  • I understand that for many young people, talking isn’t always easy, especially when trust has been affected.

How I Help:

My approach is gentle, patient, and led by the young person. I focus on building a trusting relationship first, creating a space where they feel safe enough to open up at their own pace. Having been a young carer and experienced adverse childhood experiences, I understand the importance of having the right help during difficult times.

Through our work together, young people can:

  • Begin to understand and regulate difficult emotions
  • Feel less alone in their experiences
  • Develop a stronger sense of self and confidence
  • Process experiences that may feel confusing or overwhelming

My Approach:

As a person-centred counsellor, I believe that each individual has the capacity for growth and healing when given the right conditions.

I offer warmth, consistency, and acceptance, particularly important when working with trauma, where feeling safe and understood is key.

For Parents:

If you’re concerned about your child or teenager, it can be hard to know how best to support them. I offer an initial conversation to understand your concerns and explore whether counselling may help.

I offer face to face sessions in Altrincham, Urmston, Flixton and Carrington. I also offer online and telephone support to those outside of those areas.

It can be really tough to reach out for support, but I hope to make it as easy as possible, starting with us first having a free 20 minute initial telephone consultation. This allows us to explore what has brought you to therapy, what you want from our work together and if you choose too, we can book our first session together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
