About me

The relationship with yourself is the foundation of your emotional wellbeing. It shapes how you treat yourself, how you relate to others, how you handle stress and how you make decisions. It’s the only relationship guaranteed to last a lifetime so, the more love, care, and honesty you bring to it, the more every other part of your life aligns, your confidence grows, your boundaries strengthen, and your relationships deepen. I offer a space to understand and strengthen this relationship.

Through the therapeutic process, change often happens in meaningful moments - deeply felt experiences where you fully recognise and accept parts of yourself that may have been pushed away. These moments can emerge when you feel safe enough to fully be yourself and bring all parts of your experience into the room.

I am deeply passionate about my work and am continually amazed by the capacity for growth within individuals; even when their lives reflect deeply challenging circumstances, given the right therapeutic conditions, people do heal.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Additional information

Our initial telephone conversation is an opportunity for us to connect, to help answer any questions you may have and to complete a short assessment.

This discussion is about discovering if we are the right match to work together. If we decide to proceed, a regular day and time will be agreed upon that will be yours for the duration of our work.

All sessions are 50 minutes long.

It's normal to feel nervous about counselling. I am here to help you feel as supported as possible through your journey, with compassion for whatever has brought you here.

Please note; For zoom and telephone counselling, you will need to ensure you have somewhere safe and private to talk.
