About me

Hello, and welcome. My name is Cat, and I’m a therapist and clinical psychologist committed to supporting people through emotional and mental health challenges. My approach is warm, collaborative, and based on evidence-based therapies that promote healing, strength and self-acceptance. Together, we create a safe space where you feel heard and understood within clear professional boundaries.

Difficult and traumatic life experiences, self-criticism, and low mood can shape how we see ourselves and the world. I believe in self-compassion, creativity, and the power of nature in healing and personal growth. Like the lotus flower, we can rise from muddy waters, moving toward clarity and resilience.

I use evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have recently received training in Internal Family Systems Therapy for Trauma, and Compassion focused approaches to Trauma. These therapies will help you to work with strong emotions, build a more caring and nurturing inner world, and foster self-awareness. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or life transitions, therapy can provide the tools to navigate challenges more effectively.

Therapy is not about fixing what is “wrong” but about gaining insight, developing coping strategies, and moving forward with greater self-acceptance. If you are looking for a supportive space to explore your thoughts and emotions, I am here to help. Feel free to reach out to discuss how we might work together.

Training, qualifications & experience

As a clinical psychologist, my experience is working with people across the lifespan - from children to older adults. In recent years my focus has been adults, with a special interest in anxiety disorders, trauma and self acceptance.

I have worked within the NHS, working within addictions services, adult mental health and in older adult services. My specialist placement was in eating disorders.

I have worked within the voluntary sector. A particular area of specialism was my work at Anxiety UK, where I worked with individuals with OCD, social anxiety, generalised anxiety and health related anxieties.

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
  • EMDR full training (parts 1,2 and 3)
  • Level 1 certification in Internal Family Systems Therapy
