About me
Counselling with Catherine
My attributes, knowledge and training, are focused on supporting people, like you, through personal and professional challenges, to find a way through and emerge in a better place, both within and in life (both very much connected of course).
My training and experience have continued to show me the importance of empathy, and giving people the space and time, they need to be actively listened to.
With self-belief, some life tools, and putting down some of those heavy things that weren’t meant for you to carry this long, life really can change.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have always been interested in people, our interactions with each other, what makes each of us tick.
I studied psychology at university and then began my career in social work, learning so much about people, and helping with so many different struggles along the way.
I always knew I’d love to become a counsellor, and in 2014 I began my training:
- BTEC Level 2, Introduction to Counselling Skills (2014)
- BTEC Level 3, Diploma in Counselling Skills (2016)
- BTEC Level 5, Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (2018)
BSc (HONS) Psychology (2001 – 2004)
Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling
Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (2023)

Additional information
I offer a free 30-minute introductory session, so you can get a sense of what a session with me will be like, and to ensure it’s the best fit for you.
This gives us an opportunity to introduce ourselves (online via Zoom or WhatsApp) and for you to talk about your reasons for seeking counselling. We can also begin thinking about outcomes of counselling that you’d like, and you can ask any questions you may have.
If you’d like to continue, we will discuss and arrange regular sessions. The cost for these will be £42 per 50-minute session, and you can ‘pay as you go’ or book a block of sessions. I offer a concessions rate of £37.

Further information
Everyone is welcome. We are all living beings who need support sometimes.
Currently, my counselling therapy is focused on adults, so you will need to be over 18.
I work with individuals, one-to-one, online using Zoom (I will send you a link, you don’t need to have an account yourself) or WhatsApp.
I will be opening my face-to-face therapy practice in Bath soon, so if you are interested in this, do let me know. I will always continue to offer online, as well as face to face.
I am fully insured and DBS checked.
