About me

Hi, I'm Catherine, a registered BACP counsellor with a person- centred focus. Whether you prefer face-to-face, online, or telephone sessions, I am here to support you. Based in Ossett, West Yorkshire, I provide a safe, welcoming and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings.

I recognise how difficult it can be to reach out for support. I want you to know that I am here to help you navigate whatever challenges you are facing. My aim is to create a supportive and non-judgemental environment where you can feel empowered to express yourself freely.

How counselling can help?

Counselling is a space where you don't need to have all the answers. If you're unsure what's holding you back or why you're feeling stuck, that's completely okay. Sometimes, the things that hold us back are hard to identify on our own.

Life's challenges can feel heavy and overwhelming, from dealing with anxiety and depression, to struggles with self-esteem and loss. Whatever you're going through, I'm here to offer you support and help you find your path forward.

Together, we will explore your thoughts, emotions and experiences, whilst identifying your inner resources. The beauty of therapy is that it meets you where you are, helping you make sense of your world and guiding you towards meaningful insights and positive change. Counselling can help you develop healthier coping strategies, break negative thought patterns, and build stronger emotional resilience.

My passion for listening and understanding others is deeply rooted in the belief that every person deserves to be heard and validated. My therapeutic style is grounded in warmth, empathy, and a down-to-earth approach, which I believe fosters a genuine therapeutic connection with my clients.

My Background

My experience in mental health extends beyond the counselling field, with over 10 years as a Social Worker dedicated to supporting and empowering others. I have experience of working with people when they feel most vulnerable, to listen deeply, ask the right questions, and to facilitate a journey of self- discovery and personal growth.

Everyone walks their own unique path, but I understand how difficult the journey can sometimes be. I've travelled my own challenging road, and while my footsteps won't be identical to yours, I bring genuine empathy, understanding and a heartfelt desire to support you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
