If you are a neurodivergent adult navigating a major life transition, you don't need a rigid, one-size-fits-all approach you deserve a collaborative, deeply congruent space built around your unique nervous system.
Training, qualifications & experience
Carolyn Ley BSc, Director and Founder of Authentically Us CIC in Worcester, my practice specialises in supporting neurodivergent clients, including Autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD adults, through pivotal shifts in health, career, identity, and life stages. I have a particular focus on how physiological changes, stress, and burnout impact executive dysfunction, emotional regulation, and sensory overload.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

How We Work Together: Working pluralistically, we co-create a therapeutic process that fits you. I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you safely turn toward internalised emotions unpacking chronic masking fatigue, late-identified burnout, Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD), or intense internal pressure to perform. Together, we work to unburden your system, honour your neurotype, and step into an authentic, grounded sense of identity.
What We Can Explore:
Late-Identified Autism & ADHD: Navigating self-identification, formal diagnosis, or re-evaluating your past through a neuro-affirmative lens.
Burnout & Unmasking: Moving beyond people-pleasing, perfectionism, and high-functioning anxiety to protect your energy.
Executive Dysfunction & Stress: Developing intuitive, low-demand systems for daily life without relying on shame or rigid productivity hacks.
Hormonal & Physical Transitions: Navigating the complex impact of health shifts, ageing, or hormonal fluctuations on your executive function and emotional well-being.
A Low-Demand Space: Therapy with me is flexible and low-pressure. Fidgeting, movement, taking processing pauses, or text-first communication are always welcome.
If you are seeking a congruent and deeply understanding space to unmask and grow, I invite you to reach out via email or message for a low-demand initial chat.
