About me

I am a qualified counsellor and Registered Member of the BACP.

I can offer short, medium or longer term work. You may need just a few sessions to help you feel more grounded or work through a tough decision or much longer to help you make sense of your feelings.  Maybe you feel anxious, sad or alone and would like to talk about how this is impacting your life.  I work with clients who are experiencing depression and chronic pain, have experienced trauma in their lives.
I work by offering you the core conditions of person centred counselling, which means that you remain at the heart of your sessions. As our therapeutic relationship develops I hope you will come to explore further and start to adopt the changes you want to find a peaceful mind and a calmer thoughts. I offer a space for you to breathe and unravel your thoughts and the emotions around them.  By reflecting these back to you, I can give you the opportunity to take a look at the way you feel about your life without feeling judged.  I will actively listen and offer very gentle enquiry as you talk to try my best to understand how things are for you and respond with compassion.

I can incorporate mindfulness breathing and activities into your sessions if this feels right for you.

I can offer a private and secure room in a quite part of the town centre, easily accessible by public transport and nearby parking.  Please email or call me to arrange an initial meeting, we can talk about what you want from your counselling sessions and if you'd like to go ahead we can schedule your next sessions.  I also offer remote sessions via telephone or video call.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
