About me

Hello. Are you struggling to cope with something in your life? Do you feel unhappy or overwhelmed? Do you feel that no one understands or listens to you and you can’t see a way forward?

If the answer is yes to any of these questions or you have other problems making your life difficult, perhaps counselling is for you and perhaps I can help.

I am a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) accredited counsellor with over 18 years’ experience. I can offer you time and a safe, confidential environment where you can talk freely in an atmosphere of acceptance, trust and empathy. Together we can begin to focus on your difficulties, help you untangle your thoughts, find practical as well as emotional ways for you to cope more effectively and explore your options for change so you can move forward with your life. I will work at your pace and will never push you to talk about things you aren’t ready to share.

After an initial consultation you can choose to have either  virtual face-to-face counselling via an online video platform or telephone counselling. I am happy to work in whichever way works best for you. I can be flexible about session frequency and the days and times we meet.

If you would like to be heard and understood; if you want support from someone caring and non-judgemental; if you would like to change those areas of your life which cause you distress or if you simply want to talk to someone, please get in touch with me. I offer an initial free, fifteen-minute ‘phone consultation where you can talk a little about your situation and expectations of counselling and I can assess whether I feel I could be helpful to you. At the end of the consultation, if we both feel that I might be the right counsellor for you, we can arrange a first counselling session where we can talk about how we might work together. There is no obligation to continue beyond the initial consultation.

I'm here to help so please get in touch.

If you call me and I can't pick up, please do leave a short message and I will call you back as soon as I can.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
