About me
Hello, I’m Carrie, a BACP registered counsellor with availability in two Bristol locations- Bedminster, BS3, and Downend, BS16.
You may be experiencing anxiety or low mood, or have lost a sense of who you used to be.
Maybe you have experienced a life event or are dealing with loss and change.
Something might have tipped the balance and what felt easy to manage before now feels overwhelming. This could be impacting your work, care responsibilities, relationships, friendships or family life.
Or maybe you feel your mental wellbeing just needs some attention and care.
Whatever your reason for seeking out counselling, I am warm, empathetic and have been told- easy to talk to. I aim to create a space that feels comfortable, safe and respectful- one where you can talk, explore and gain insight, without fear of judgement.
What can I offer?
I am a trained, BACP registered, Integrative counsellor which means I will tailor the counselling to your need.
I offer a steady presence to accompany you on your counselling journey.
As well as counselling, I also have an NHS background and have extensive experience of working with people adapting to life after a health event.
Additional Information:
Ultimately, it is known that counselling tends to be more effective if the therapeutic relationship is right- so I offer a 20-minute free introductory phone call to help make the decision about whether you would like to book in to work with me.
Sessions are 50 minutes long.
Sessions cost £50 per 50 minutes.
I offer the first session at a reduced rate of £35.
I work in 2 locations:
Tuesdays between 2.50pm and 7.30pm, at The Bromley Therapy & Wellbeing, Downend, BS16.
Fridays between 9.15am and 1pm, in Willway Yard, Bedminster, BS3.
There is parking nearby. The locations are accessible by public transport, and there is also space to lock a bike.
I offer in-person or online, weekly or fortnightly sessions.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
