About me

I am a Registered Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist (MBACP) and a BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist

I understand that it is not always easy to talk about issues that you have been going through and therefore I thank you for finding your way onto this site today. I want to make it as easy as possible for you to speak about these. By exploring these issues, I hope together, we can work towards making your life feel more balanced and improve your well-being.

My Approach

I am experienced in supporting a wide range of issues and I specialise in working with anxiety disorders as well as low self-esteem and depression.

My approach is guided by my Integrative training, which incorporates a range of psychological approaches. This means that I can draw upon a range of psychotherapeutic approaches in supporting you. For our work, this means that I will provide a non-judgemental space for you to talk about whatever may be on your mind, no matter how difficult, and will provide unconditional support.

I also strongly believe in the impact that unconscious processes can have on our lives and some of our work will be to bring some of the unconscious processes into the conscious. This work will lead to greater control and balance in your life, leading to a greater sense of self.

Together, we will look at ways to bring more balance to your life, improve your wellbeing and your mental health. We would look at coping strategies to help you, explore issues or triggers that currently impact you, look at the experiences you have had from childhood through to the present day and understand the impact that these have had on you.

Most importantly, the sessions are a space for you to talk about what is most significant for you and it is important to understand that you will never be forced to speak about anything you don't want to. I hope that together, we can explore the issues at a pace that is manageable for you and work towards the goals you want to achieve in therapy.

Getting Started in Therapy

If counselling is something that you are interested in, the first thing you can do is call or e-mail me to set up an initial assessment, which is typically 50 minutes long, where we will explore some of the issues you want to talk about in therapy and think about what you would like us to work towards. I am happy to have a 10-15 minute phone call with you to introduce myself and answer any questions you may have.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
