About me

Hello and welcome. My name is Carl, and I am an Integrative Psychotherapist offering online and telephone counselling and psychotherapy for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, trauma, loss, and a range of other emotional and psychological challenges.

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, confusing, or emotionally exhausting. You may find yourself struggling with anxiety, low mood, self-doubt, relationship difficulties, work-related stress, or repeating patterns that no longer feel helpful. Therapy can provide a safe and supportive space to explore these experiences, helping you develop greater self-awareness, understanding, and emotional wellbeing.

I offer a warm, empathic, and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship where you can speak openly and at your own pace. Whether you are facing a specific difficulty, navigating a life transition, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships, I aim to provide a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and respected.

I believe that a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful therapy. Feeling understood and accepted can create the conditions for reflection, growth, and lasting change.

I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent adults, including individuals with autism and ADHD. Whether you have a formal diagnosis, identify as neurodivergent, or are exploring whether neurodiversity may be relevant to your experiences, I offer a supportive space to explore challenges such as anxiety, overwhelm, masking, self-esteem, relationships, identity, and emotional wellbeing.

As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I draw upon a variety of therapeutic approaches, allowing our work together to be tailored to your individual needs and experiences.

Making Contact
Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, and I aim to make the process as straightforward and welcoming as possible. You can contact me by email using the "Email Me" button at the top of the page, or by telephone or text message on 07380 369105. I aim to respond to all enquiries within 48 hours.

If reaching out feels difficult, you can also book an introductory call using the options at the top of this page. I understand that making first contact can feel overwhelming, so I am happy to contact you at a time that suits you, helping to ease some of the pressure of taking that first step.

Following your initial contact, we can arrange an introductory consultation to discuss what has brought you to therapy, explore your needs, and consider whether we are a good fit to work together.

I offer sessions online via Zoom or by telephone, providing a flexible and accessible way to engage in therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold an MSc in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and a BSc in Counselling and Psychology. Alongside my private practice, I have worked within the NHS for 1.5 years which has provided me with the opportunity to work with a range of diverse clients.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work in accordance with their ethical framework and professional standards. As part of my ongoing professional commitment, I attend regular clinical supervision and continue to engage in ongoing professional development to support safe, reflective, and ethical practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

I understand that starting therapy can feel like a big step. I offer a free 20-minute initial conversation where we can explore what has brought you to therapy and whether working together feels right for you.

There is no expectation to have everything figured out, this is something we can begin to understand together.

If we decide to continue working together following the initial meeting, ongoing therapy sessions will last 50 minutes.

Fees are payable via Bank Transfer.
