About me

My Approach

I offer a warm, confidential, and empathetic space for you to explore feelings and emotions without judgement. We will work together in collaboration, at a pace that suits you. People come for counselling for different reasons and my role is to help you to unpick and understand life experiences. I will meet you with compassion in whatever experience you bring to the session.

As an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist my approach allows me to draw on a number of different techniques and modalities to best suit your needs. I recognise that we all respond to life’s obstacles and challenges in different ways, and I will use different elements of therapeutic thinking as a way to explore these experiences and support your future life.

What to expect in your first session?

I believe that therapy is based on trust and building a trusting relationship is at the heart of my work. I suggest that for our first session we meet for a 50-minute consultation to decide if I am the right person for you.

If we decide to go ahead, we will agree to see each other weekly for a 50-minute session at an agreed day and time.

I am currently providing online sessions with adults over the age of 18.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Post Graduate Diploma, Counselling and Psychotherapy- Integrative
  • MSc, Health Promotion
  • BA (Hons) Applied Community Studies
  • Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills (CPCAB)
  • Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies (CPCAB)
  • I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I am committed to ‘continuous professional development,’ I regularly attend courses and workshops on a wide range of subjects including trauma, play therapy, self-harm and risk assessment. I also attend regular peer groups meetings, read journals/ books and listen to podcasts/audiobooks relating to therapeutic interventions.

I practice ethically, and morally to ensure that I am dedicated to the well-being of my clients and to the standards set out by the BACP.

I have professional indemnity insurance and am DBS checked to work with children and adults.

Prior to working as a therapist, I worked with children and young people in care. I developed an insight into the impact of childhood trauma into adult life and now support children and their foster carers to better understand behaviours. I am also currently employed by a charity in East London working with children in schools and adults.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
