About me

Feeling anxious, sad or depressed can be draining and at times, frightening.
Talking with someone who is not involved, in a safe and confidential setting can help you to gain understanding of difficult issues and obtain coping strategies for the future.
I like to provide a non-judgemental, calm environment to help clients explore and reflect on feelings, thoughts and behaviour that may be preventing them from leading a full and satisfying life.
I work in different ways to suit the client, we are all unique and what works for one person may not be the right approach for another.  I also offer walking therapy and meditation to manage anxiety.

At present I am offering face to face, online and telephone sessions.
Between us we will find the best way forward.

Please call if you have any questions. I am very happy to discuss any concerns that you may have before committing to therapy.

I am a fully qualified Counsellor working in Wickford Essex and offer individual counselling or couples counselling. Telephone sessions are available if appropriate. Sessions last for 50 minutes.
An initial consultation is offered free of charge to allow us to discuss what you would like to gain from therapy and how this can be achieved. You are under no obligation at this stage and are free to decide.
It also offers you the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have.

Sessions are open ended, meaning that they continue for as long as we both agree is helpful to you. Regular reviews will enable us to monitor progress and identify new areas of work if required.

I have been a member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) http://www.bacp.co.uk/for many years and adhere to BACP code of ethics. I am CRB checked to work with children and vulnerable adults and have professional indemnity insurance.

As part of my work I receive regular supervision as outlined by BACP. This ensures that I work safely and ethically with all clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
