Art Psychotherapist

About me

I’m Brooke, a HCPC & BAAT-registered Art Psychotherapist.

My practice is inclusive, compassionate, and grounded in creating a safe space for healing, exploration, and making meaning of your experiences through art.

Art psychotherapy is a collaborative process. You don’t need to be ‘artistic’ or have had any experience with art-making to take part.

We work together to explore, process, and begin to understand your thoughts and feelings. Art materials can provide another avenue to explore parts of us that may be difficult to access or put into words.

I’ve worked with a wide range of individuals and draw upon a psychodynamic approach which keeps in mind both conscious and unconscious processes and seeks to understand how social context, identity, community and relationships shape you.

Feel free to reach out via email to arrange a free 20-minute telephone consultation to answer any questions.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

MA Art Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths University of London.

I'm currently an art psychotherapist practicing with a wide range of clients across contexts. I have previously worked as an artist and social worker in South Africa.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
